I have known the owner for several years through our work assisting immigrant families who were separated at the US border; thus I know that her and her staff’s commitment to young families and recent immigrants to the US is very strong. Recently I helped a family enroll their youngest child at Best Friends; he had never had a formal structured daycare before, and this was his first experience with teachers and in a classroom with several other children his age. He and his family had been through significant trauma in his young life, and he has some language delay and attention deficits. He took to the program at Best Friend’s right away. Since his enrollment at Best Friend’s, his vocabulary has expanded rapidly, he has developed a regular napping schedule, and he has several stories to tell about his friends and his teachers at the end of each day. His family is confident that he is happy and well-cared for during the day at Best Friends, because he is so content and relaxed in the home now that he has a well-structured play and learning environment at daycare.
