Director

Melissa Pineda has been with Best Friend's for the past 2.5 years, bringing over fifteen years of international teaching experience and a deep commitment to educational equity and excellence. Originally from Honduras, Melissa taught in underprivileged communities where access to books and learning tools was limited. In response, she developed original curricula and published her own text books, which she distributed freely to promote literacy and learning across her community.

Melissa’s leadership is grounded in her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to realize their full potential. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, and learning Brazilian Portuguese. She uses her multilingual skills to foster inclusive communication and a strong sense of belonging among children, families, and staff.

Her dedication to quality early education, creative problem-solving, and culturally responsive teaching continues to shape the heart and vision of our center.
